Community Engagement Content Manager - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Content Manager will develop digital content including newsletters and resource guides to support the transgender and gender non-conforming community, focusing on accessible and mission-aligned writing.
Key Responsibilities
- Create timely, relevant newsletter content reflecting diverse trans identities
- Research, write, and produce accessible resource guides, toolkits, and long-form content
- Plan, write, and distribute bi-weekly and special edition newsletters using Mailchimp
- Track and analyze newsletter performance metrics to improve reach
- Ensure content accuracy, clarity, and accessibility for varied audiences
- Collaborate with digital team to align content with editorial calendars and campaigns
- Maintain consistent voice, tone, brand standards, formatting, and accessibility
- Work cross-functionally to align written and visual content
- Perform additional digital and administrative tasks supporting the Director of Digital & Social Media
Requirements
- 3-5 years experience in digital content creation, communications, editorial or similar roles focused on community-centered or public-facing writing
- Demonstrated experience writing inclusive, engaging, and accessible content
- Strong understanding of content organization and basic performance metrics
- Excellent grammar, AP Style or similar, and plain language proficiency
- Proficiency with content management systems, Mailchimp, Substack, Google Workspace, and Asana
- Ability to collaborate across diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship-building skills
- Ability to balance creativity with data-driven approaches
- Highly organized with project and time management skills
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and entrepreneurial approach
