Director of Community Engagement and Communications - Job Summary
Leads the Community Engagement and Communications department including Community Engagement and Donor Family Engagement teams; develops and executes strategies in marketing, communications, and family support to promote organ donation and enhance organizational reputation.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise Executive Leadership Team with strategic insights and collaborate with directors for organizational alignment.
- Lead Community Engagement and Communications team, creating annual plans to increase registered donors and manage marketing, public relations, and outreach programs.
- Oversee Donor Family Engagement team to develop family support initiatives and improve donor family experiences.
- Manage complaint resolution processes for donor families, ensuring quality and satisfaction.
- Develop and implement department policies and operational procedures aligned with organizational goals.
- Participate in budget and staffing planning for the department.
- Foster a high-performance culture, conduct performance reviews, and ensure staff training and compliance.
- Assign tasks, responsibilities and manage special projects within the department.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree required; preferred fields include Communications, Journalism, Marketing or related.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in healthcare, non-profit or related fields with demonstrated success in marketing, public relations, and partnership development.
- At least 3 years in a managerial or higher position.
- Experience in PR, Advertising Agency, Medical Non-Profit Public Relations, Marketing preferred.
- Strong human relations and oral/written communication skills.
- Prior direct supervision and experience managing high-functioning teams and mentoring staff.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with high-quality output.
