In 2026, we are leading Startup World Cup Australia, a global startup competition run by Pegasus Tech Ventures, with events in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. Winners gain access to Silicon Valley, investors, and international exposure.
This role sits at the centre of that ecosystem.
Role Overview
We are looking for an Event and Community Lead to lead our events and grow our Startup and Angels community. This is not just an events role. You will be responsible for building relationships, driving engagement, and turning events into long-term value for founders, investors, and partners.
What You Will Do
- Lead and deliver major events
- Own the planning and execution of events across multiple cities, including Startup World Cup Australia
- Coordinate speakers, startups, investors, and partners
- Ensure high-quality delivery and a strong attendee experience
- Build and grow the community
- Develop relationships with founders, investors, and partners
- Drive member engagement through events, content, and direct interactions
- Support onboarding of new members and partners
- Turn events into ongoing engagement
- Design follow-up strategies to maintain connections after events
- Create opportunities for introductions, collaborations, and partnerships
- Contribute to newsletters, content, and community communication
- Support partnerships and projects
- Work with partners to deliver successful collaborations
- Ensure projects are delivered to a high standard from planning to execution
Requirements
What We Are Looking For
- 3 to 5 years of experience in events, community, marketing, or related roles
- Experience organising events and managing multiple stakeholders
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
- Interest in startups, innovation, or entrepreneurship
- Proactive and hands-on approach
