Community Engagement Intern - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Intern works cross-departmentally to identify partnership opportunities, support community outreach and engagement, and assist with strategic communication mostly from the office with some community event attendance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in planning and organizing community outreach events and initiatives
- Maintain relationships with community partners, volunteers, and stakeholders
- Conduct research on community demographics, needs, and potential partnerships
- Assist in writing storytelling campaigns to uplift community stories
- Provide collaboration support to other departments to align outreach strategies
- Attend tabling and networking events to build community exposure and engagement
- Perform other general duties as assigned
Requirements
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel to different event locations
- Strong interpersonal skills to engage diverse populations
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple tasks
- Able to take initiative independently and collaboratively
- Interest in the nonprofit sector
- Preferred: Enrollment in or graduation from relevant degree program
- Preferred: Knowledge of Instagram, Microsoft 365 Suite, Salesforce
- Ability to obtain an IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Education
Enrolled in or graduated from relevant degree program (communications, nonprofit management, community relations, etc.)
