Community Engagement Intern - Job Summary
This internship offers hands-on experience in community engagement and program coordination, supporting outreach, event planning, and administrative tasks to build community partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
- Support outreach programs and events such as the SPARK membership program and CML storytelling partnership.
- Assist in compiling annual calendars of key events and outreach activities.
- Help research and document community needs, demographics, and engagement trends.
- Participate in planning programs like Neighbor Trick or Treat and Museums for All initiatives.
- Coordinate communication with internal teams and external partners.
- Contribute to evaluation and reporting by collecting feedback and preparing impact summaries.
Requirements
- Enrollment in an academic program or recent graduate within one year.
- Preferred majors: Community Outreach, Public History, Museum Studies, Nonprofit Management, Communications, or related fields.
- Familiarity with Microsoft 365 and virtual meeting platforms (Zoom, Teams).
- Strong research and writing skills with ability to synthesize data into actionable insights.
- Works well independently and collaboratively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with organizational and time-management abilities.
- Complete background check and internship onboarding paperwork.

- Attend professional development sessions and present at Internship Experience Summit.
Education
Enrolled in an academic program or recent graduate (within one year); preferred majors in related fields.
