Senior Community Engagement Manager - Job Summary
Lead outreach and training efforts to engage researchers and promote the use of Velsera platforms, ensuring user success and strategic growth while managing community associates and collaborating with leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Create content to educate researchers on Velsera platforms including tutorials and videos.
- Plan and lead training sessions and workshops for academic and commercial user groups.
- Present the value of Velsera platforms at conferences, workshops, and meetings.
- Identify and lead new growth opportunities across platforms.
- Lead data ecosystem outreach and engagement efforts independently.
- Collaborate with Scientific Program Managers and contribute to strategic program direction.
- Develop a strategic roadmap for community outreach and engagement.
- Apply new features to engagement strategy and identify new groups or growth opportunities.
- Identify new workshop topics and lead modular content development.
- Optimize storytelling and metric collection to showcase successes.
- Coordinate with tech teams on new features and user testing.
Requirements
- Excellent communication skills for a wide audience including users, researchers, funding agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Leadership skills with ability to delegate, inspire, and communicate effectively.
- Experience conducting genomics experiments or analyzing omics data (e.g., RNA-seq, Exome-seq, ChIP-seq, proteomics, imaging analysis).
- Enthusiasm for teaching and making technical concepts accessible.
- Experience working with Seven Bridges platform (highly desired).
- Programming skills in R and/or Python and other relevant languages (highly desired).
- Knowledge of clinical applications of multi-omics and challenges integrating omics into clinical workflows (highly desired).
- Experience with large scale omics data processing on cloud or high-performance computing (highly desired).
Education
PhD or MS in genomics, bioinformatics, molecular biology, engineering, or related discipline required
