Community Engagement Intern - Job Summary
The Community Engagement Intern will support the Development Department by assisting with community engagement activities including volunteer management, communications, in-kind donation tracking, and various projects to gain nonprofit operational experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with retail store communications and social media content management
- Analyze social media and e-communications trends and report findings
- Maintain Constant Contact lists and research influencer engagement
- Support volunteer program operations including onboarding and data collection
- Manage volunteer records in the online application system
- Collaborate on volunteer recruitment and opportunity distribution
- Document, organize, and distribute in-kind donations
- Track in-kind donations and maintain wishlists on platforms like Amazon and Purposity
- Maintain donor records in Salesforce and follow up with donors
- Research new corporate and community partnerships to grow donations
- Assist with planning and executing gift giving campaigns
- Additional duties include assisting thrift stores with social media, attending program events, awareness events, and partner meetings as appropriate
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in nonprofit management, social work, media, retail management, business, or related field
- Strong passion for nonprofit work and alignment with Wellspring Living's mission
- Detail-oriented with high accuracy
- Self-starter with excellent time management
- Flexible, adaptable, and able to work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong research and analytical abilities
- Experience with in-kind donation coordination is highly desirable
- Interest or experience in volunteer engagement and recruitment
- Experience with Canva Pro, Salesforce, or other CRM systems is a plus
- Reliable transportation required for travel between locations
- Strong administrative and organizational skills with proficiency in MS Office Suite and Google Workspace
Education
Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in relevant fields
