Community Manager - Job Summary
The Community Manager will serve as the Old School RuneScape community expert, helping shape communication and strategy around game updates and player sentiment. The role combines deep game knowledge with community management, public communication, and internal advocacy for players.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise designers on how updates will affect different player groups and flag community concerns before content ships.
- Manage community channels including forums, Reddit, Discord, and social media.
- Appear in livestreams, videos, and podcasts as a public-facing voice for the Old School team.
- Represent community sentiment internally to development and publishing teams.
- Build and manage relationships with partners, affiliates, influencers, volunteers, and sub-communities.
- Monitor and report on community sentiment and engagement using data-driven insights.
- Support in-game and real-world events, competitions, and community activations.
Requirements
- Deep, current knowledge of Old School RuneScape, including its content, communities, and player ecosystems.
- Comfort being on camera and speaking publicly in weekly livestreams.
- Ability to think critically, propose practical solutions, and communicate them confidently.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt tone for different audiences and platforms.
- Experience in community management, player support, PR, account management, or similar high-pressure communication roles.
- Resilience and the ability to advocate professionally for the community in difficult situations.
