Director of Strategic Communications - Job Summary
Lead integrated communication strategies to enhance the organization's reputation, promote community partnerships, and support internal engagement with consistent messaging aligned to organizational values.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead public relations strategy, media outreach, and brand reputation efforts.
- Create press releases, executive messaging, and thought leadership content.
- Serve as media contact and build trusted relationships with media outlets.
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure consistent messaging across channels.
- Optimize engagement on LinkedIn and other community platforms.
- Lead internal communication strategies to foster transparency and employee engagement.
- Oversee internal newsletters, executive updates, and organization-wide events.
- Partner with HR on key initiatives communication.
- Draft talking points, FAQs, leadership scripts, and internal memos.
- Lead/support internal crisis communications.
- Define and track communication KPIs and optimize communication channels.
- Monitor brand sentiment and advise leadership on response strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field; Master's preferred.
- Certifications in change management, internal communications, engagement, or crisis communication are a plus.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications with leadership roles.
- Experience in healthcare, MSO environments, or regulated industries preferred.
- Proven ability to build strategic communication programs and support executive engagement.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or related field; Master's preferred
