Lead Developer Relations Advocate - Job Summary
The Lead Developer Relations Advocate acts as a product and industry expert in data integration to advise technical buyers on Fivetran adoption, focusing on content creation, product advocacy, and community engagement targeting technical data leaders.
Key Responsibilities
- Define engagement strategies for data leaders and practitioners through events and content.
- Develop persona-specific engagement playbooks for different target audiences.
- Track and optimize engagement metrics such as pipeline influence and community growth.
- Create technical content including blogs, case studies, demos for social channels and data communities.
- Advocate product capabilities and create technical blueprints for Fivetran implementation.
- Participate in speaking engagements and produce thought leadership content across media.
- Advise on customizing Fivetran to meet complex enterprise architecture needs.
- Represent Fivetran publicly at key data and AI industry events.
Requirements
- 5+ years experience in data engineering, developer relations, or technical/product evangelism with expertise in ETL/ELT and data warehouses.
- Hands-on experience with Fivetran, ELT tools, infrastructure as code, orchestrators, data warehouses, data lakes, and transformation tooling like dbt or Coalesce.
- Strong public speaking and technical writing skills.
- Proven community engagement experience with data engineering communities via open-source, meetups, or content.
- Self-starter mindset able to lead initiatives independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with video creation.
- Experience with GenAI/ML including unstructured data and agentic workflows.
- Contributions to data-related open-source projects such as dbt or Iceberg.
